User Comments about the Sheds: The Do-It-Yourself Guide for Backyard Builders

I wanted to look at fresh ideas for a series of sheds I wanted to build and I got them. Reccomended. Australian materials and traditions in building are different. Thats why this volume was impressive- lots of new approaches.

The book was all I expected. Plan to have my storage shed up in no time. Good and easy to understand information for a novice.

When I get round to building one of these I might just move out of the house and take up residence in my new 'shed'. These are very nice looking outhouses that most carpenters could build. We don't do sheds like these - what a surprise. The plans and dimensions are pretty basic but all the construction notes are within the book so it would cause the average home carpenter no problems. The shed would look better than the house. The designs ae really nice and opens up your thinking beyond just another shed - to creating a garden building that enhances the garden rather than creating an eyesore for the future.

This book is great. Lots of great sheds from small to large. I had one copy and lost it and liked it so much that I bought another to replace the lost one.

What an inspiration, and good ideas are exactly what we weekend builders need. I found the drawings to be very clear and specific and had no problem with planning and constructing my own personal design based on the Stiles' great ideas and instructions. I find there are lots and lots of technical books on building and construction techniques - how to size nails and screws, how to mix cement, estimating lumber, etc., but there are very few books which provide inspiration in the form of great ideas and alternatives to the standard box that most people build for a shed.
